Our lawyers are licensed by and registered with the Netherlands Bar Association:
Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten
Prinses Beatrixlaan 5
NL-2595 AK The Hague
This organisation’s website lists the legal requirements and rules of conduct that lawyers must adhere to. Some of our lawyers are also enrolled and registered as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) at the Rechtsanwaltkammer in Düsseldorf and are subject to German law in that capacity.
All our services are subject to the Boels Zanders general terms and conditions. A copy of our terms and conditions will always be sent to you as part of our order acknowledgement. Our general terms and conditions can be found here.
The model letter for the right of withdrawal referred to in our general terms and conditions and order confirmation can be found here.
As lawyers, we are under a statutory obligation to verify the identity of our clients. The nature of the service we are to provide determines how we research and identify them. We can accept your instructions only on completion of such research and identification.
As a profession we are also required to check whether the services to be performed for you fall within the scope of the Dutch Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act. Under this Act, lawyers are obliged to report unusual transactions without notifying the client.
We are also required to consult the UBO register and report any discrepancies to the Chamber of Commerce.
Boels Zanders’ professional liability insurance is provided by AON, Condensatorweg 54, Amsterdam. Our liability is covered no matter where in the world the wrong was committed or the incident occurred. USA and Canada are subject to a number of additional conditions.
Boels Zanders attaches great importance to client satisfaction. Our firm wishes to make every effort to serve you as well as possible. Nevertheless, you may be dissatisfied about our services or a certain aspect thereof. The options open to you are as described below.
If you are dissatisfied with the quality of our services or your bill, please present your objections to your own lawyer in the first instance. You can also contact our complaints officer, Ruud Tuinstra. Our firm processes complaints in accordance with a procedure, which is described in our complaints handling scheme.
We aim, in consultation with you if possible, to find a solution to the complaint that has arisen and in any event to give your complaint sufficient consideration and take a position regarding your complaint. In principle, we will attempt to deal with your complaint within four weeks.
