Caspar prefers to give colleagues and clients a complete response. To that end, he likes to have all the cards on the table, especially when the choice concerned has a great deal of impact. He takes the time to listen and likes to step back to see what an issue is fundamentally about. Caspar therefore creates calm and space to arrive at a good choice, being able to switch gears quickly if necessary.
Best of all for him is if it can all be done with a smile. In administrative law, the pre-eminent area of law governing the unique relationship between citizens and government, the interests of society come into play in every case. Applying the law in such a way as to achieve the best result for both citizens and government makes Caspar’s work interesting.
Caspar’s main interest is in education law. He completed his Master’s in Public Law and Governance at Maastricht University. Here, as a student assistant, he became closely acquainted with the education field, a sector with challenging questions about scarcity, governance, culture and identity. Since 2023, as a legal assistant at Boels Zanders, he has been contributing to the sustainable resolution of these issues. Previously, as a member of various participation bodies in higher education, he saw how the law works in practice.
