As a lawyer and advocate of good governance, Jeffrey advises on the corporate structure of companies, the legal formation of partnerships, and the governance of corporations. In addition, he assists clients in (preventing) disputes and represents them in court proceedings when necessary. Are there financial problems? Then Jeffrey, together with clients, looks for restructuring opportunities. He can also be of service to entrepreneurs who are ceasing their business operations. Finally, Jeffrey is a specialist in the Law on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (Wwft). With his knowledge of this legislation, he advises institutions subject to this law, as well as clients who are faced with this legislation by institutions (such as banks).
In addition to his legal practice, Jeffrey has a scientific background. In 2020, he obtained his PhD from Maastricht University with a dissertation titled “Liability for Policy Decisions: A Triptych on the Actual Control of Corporations.” He conducted his doctoral research at the Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies (ICGI) of Maastricht University. Jeffrey frequently publishes in professional journals and regularly teaches on his areas of expertise. Finally, Jeffrey, as a member of the Limburg Bar Council, is involved in the professional regulation and supervision of the legal profession in Limburg.
