Effective communication: that’s where the work starts for Sophie. Conveying thoughts and ideas clearly. Actively listening to what others say and understanding their viewpoint, always with respect. After all, as a lawyer, she works for and with people.
For Sophie, being able to actually mean something to people and organisations is the most rewarding part of the job. She helps to solve challenges and avoid problems. Working with colleagues, learning from each other, she devises the right approach to every issue. It makes her work as a lawyer worthwhile every day.
Sophie studied law at Utrecht University and undertook a minor in law at the University of Victoria. At Tilburg University, she completed the master’s degree in law & technology. At Boels Zanders, where she has worked since 2023, Sophie has a broad corporate law practice, in which she advises and litigates.
Sophie also has experience in commercial contracts. She is also a member of the editorial board of OR Updates.
