A specialist in procurement, state aid and real estate law, Ward works from context, not structures, from solutions, not impossibilities, to contribute positively to his clients’ objectives. These clients include public and semi-public authorities, education and healthcare institutions, non-profit organisations and companies in a variety of industries.
Ward advises and litigates on all aspects of procurement law, including the applicability and scope of the Dutch Procurement Act. He assists contracting authorities to organise procurement procedures and represents clients’ interests in procedures before the Committee of Procurement Experts and advisory procedures.
In the area of state aid law, Ward advises his clients on how to “state aid-proof” financial transactions with a public-private dimension. He also has extensive experience in setting up public-private partnerships and property-related contract negotiations.
Ward is a partner at Boels Zanders. He has completed the Grotius specialisation programme in European and Dutch Public Procurement Law, graduating cum laude. Ward is a member of the Dutch Association for Public Procurement Law (NVvA) and the Association for Construction Law Practitioners (VBR-A).
