Peter enjoys fulfilling the role of trusted advisor to his clients, business owners and companies. He calls on his extensive expertise in corporate law to advise and assist them, tackling cases with a solution-oriented approach that adds value. For example, he advises national and international clients, assisting them to optimise their legal corporate structure and governance and compliance issues.
Peter specialises in corporate law, insolvency law and restructuring. As a trustee, he regularly acts in major, complex bankruptcies. For instance, he was involved in the bankruptcies of companies including Componenta iron foundries and Favini paper mills. Along with the Insolvency and Restructuring team, he was listed in Legal500’s EMEA Guide 2020. Clients praise his ability to transpose complex matters into business practice, his vast knowledge and the team’s approachability.
Peter studied Dutch Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He completed the European Master in Law and Economics, an international study programme offered by the universities of Oxford, Paris, Rotterdam and Ghent. In the course of his career, Peter has completed the Grotius specialisation programme in Insolvency Law and the specialisation programme in Financial Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Peter is a member of INSOLAD, the Dutch Association of Insolvency Lawyers, and TMA, an international network of turnaround management professionals. He has been working as a lawyer at Boels Zanders since 1992 and was managing partner from 2008 to 2014.
